Q. Who are we?
A. A firm of chartered Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisers operating through a limited company.

Q. Where are we based?
A. In Esher, Surrey.

Q. What services do we perform?
A. Everything you would expect from a firm of Chartered Accountants, namely Statutory and Management accounts, Corporate and Personal Tax Returns, Wages, VAT Returns, Tax Planning and other consultancy services.

Q. What kind of clients are we ideally suited to?
A. Individuals and small businesses.

Q. Who actually does the work?
A. The director, Judith Stadius.

Q. Is she competent to do the work?
A. Certainly. She graduated from Hull University in 1978 (Classical Studies),qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984 and as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1986 and set up her own practice, on a part time basis, in 1988.

Q. Do we ever use subcontractors?
A. We have not done so to date as the director believes that the best way to know her clients is to do everything herself.

Q. Do we ever turn work away?
A. Yes if we feel that someone else could do a better job or we feel that the work would give us too much aggravation!

Q. Do we deal with work on a timely basis?
A Wherever possible, since work lying around waiting to be done represents fee invoices that we could have raised.

Q. What are our fees like?
A. Very reasonable.

Q. What is the catch?
A. Nothing. As the work is undertaken from the director’s home, overheads can be kept to a minimum thus we have no need to add these on to our hourly rate.

Q. Will you find anyone cheaper?
A. Most certainly, but you get what you pay for in this world. Remember, anyone can call themselves an accountant but you should be looking for a Chartered Accountant since the qualification is hard to achieve and you can be assured of a certain level of competence.

Q. Why chose Mole Valley Accountants rather than another firm?
A. Because of the way we operate. We aim to give a personal, informal yet professional service from the comfort of the director’s home. Although we generally charge according to the time spent on clients’ affairs, it is possible to fix fees in advance of the work being carried out which many clients seem to prefer.

Q. What are the refreshments like?
A The usual polluting beverages such as tea and coffees are available but we encourage client to try drinks which are a little kinder to the system, such as rooibos, dandelion coffee and herbal teas.

Q. Is there likely to be a crying baby in the background?
A. No but if you do not like cats you’d better keep away as the little darlings are everywhere.

Q. Do we charge for our initial meeting?
A. Of course not. Clients need to be given the opportunity to see whether they can work with their accountant. It is important that mutual trust is built up and this is the purpose of the first meeting.

Q. Do you need to put on your Sunday best to visit us?
A. We’d rather you did not. The director believes that casual, comfy dress increases her efficiency.

Q. Do we provide financial services?
A. No as we are not authorised to do so, but we know plenty of people who are.

Q. Why did we chose a mole for our logo?
A. For two reasons: First to present a different image from the usual one of the stuffy accountant and Second to relate to the River Mole which borders our garden which is populated with moles.

Q. Do you really expect clients to trust an accountant with a mole for a logo?
A. Go on, give us a try. We are certain that you will be pleasantly surprised.

Please telephone/ e mail us for an informal chat without any obligation.
